Quick Summary
The Logitech Brio 500 is a 1080p 30 FPS webcam with HDR functionality. It’s not exceptional in any individual aspect, but it has decent image quality, a good build, and a midrange price.
You may see this listed as the Brio 501 or Brio 505. The 501 is just the same webcam in a different color. The 505 is the enterprise version that has a detachable cable and is compatible with Logitech Sync.

HDR Off
The Brio 500 looks much better with high dynamic range on. Without it, my skin looks too yellow and there are way more hot spots in bright areas. With HDR on, the color accuracy is not bad. The autofocus is serviceable, but it’s not that fast.
The overall sharpness of the webcam is mediocre and the lack of bokeh makes the 90 degree FOV feel a bit much. Overall the webcam looks passable for video conferencing, but it’s nothing exciting.

Software
Aside from OBS, you can opt to control this device in Logitech G Hub. You get a digital zoom option here and can toggle HDR on and off. Outside of this, you get the same controls as any other software.
Build Quality
The Brio 500 is made of all plastic. It has a 60 inch non-detachable USB-C cable. The light on the right glows white when it’s active.
The webcam can be magnetically detached from the monitor mount which reveals 1/4 inch tripod threading. Additionally, the privacy shutter can be opened and closed using the knob on the right of the webcam. There is swivel horizontally and the webcam tilts up and down.
Verdict
Overall, the Brio 500 is just meh. It doesn’t really do anything better than other webcams near its price point like the OBSBOT Meet 2 or Insta360 Link 2C which have far better resolution and overall image quality.
Not bad, but not recommended.
