Quick Summary
The OBSBOT Meet SE is one of the best budget webcams out. It can record 1080p all the way up to 100 FPS, it has HDR support, and its minimalist build makes it very convenient and quick to set up.
Specifications
Max resolution and frame rate: 1080p 100 FPS.
Sensor size: 1/2.8 inch.
Aperture: f/1.8.
Field of view: 78 degrees.
Tripod threading: ✅
Cable: 60 inch USB-C to USB-C cable with USB-C to A adapter included.
Image Quality
Studio lighting + manual settings.
The Meet SE doesn’t have the most ambitious optics, but the image processing makes up for it. The sharpness is average, but there’s not too much grain. The colors are on point, and this webcam is adaptable in many different lighting conditions.
Even if you don’t have studio lighting or you don’t know how to manage manual settings, this is a great plug and play device. If you do know what you’re doing with lighting and settings, this punches way above its weight.
Daylight only, HDR off. Automatic settings.
Daylight only, HDR on. Automatic settings.
The HDR isn’t very strong, but if you have harsh daylight coming in, it helps tone that down.
Microphone Demonstration
Build
The Meet SE is made mostly of plastic, but it comes with a magnetic monitor mount. This allows it to be mounted both horizontally and vertically. This is very useful for making portrait mode content, and the video orientation automatically shifts when you adjust the camera physically.
There is 1/4 inch tripod threading on the bottom of the webcam. A magnetic privacy cover is included. When the webcam is active, the activity light turns green. The USB C to C cable is only 60 inches long.
The main issues I have with the build are:
The magnetism is weak, so it’s easy for the Meet SE to get bumped off it.
The privacy cover is extremely easy to lose since it’s not integrated.
Software
The Meet SE can be controlled with OBSBOT Center. This is where you’ll need to toggle HDR on or off. It’s also where the various microphone noise reduction options can be controlled. The software is great, and it can still be used while the webcam is active in other software.
Verdict
If you need an easy to use, high quality webcam under $100, I recommend the OBSBOT Meet SE. It ticks all the boxes for what any streamer or content creator needs and it does it on a budget.
If you’re looking to jump up in quality and you have more to spend, the OBSBOT Meet 2 is basically a 4K version of this webcam with way beefier specs.
